Personnel change in Management Board of AutoVision GmbH

  • Hartmut Rickel joins Management Board
  • Consistent expansion of service function for Volkswagen Group

AutoVision GmbH, which is being renamed Volkswagen Group Services GmbH from January 2018, is consistently pursuing its reorientation and realigning its service range to the requirements of the Volkswagen Group. The pact for the future of the Volkswagen brand and the transformation of the Volkswagen Group into a mobility service provider will lead to considerable growth potential. To prepare AutoVision GmbH / Volkswagen Group Services GmbH for this situation in the best possible way, Hartmut Rickel (52) is joining the Management Board of AutoVision GmbH, which already consists of Sebastian Krapoth (Speaker) and Jürgen Klöpffer, as a new member with immediate effect.

Rickel holds a degree in industrial engineering and has worked for the Volkswagen Group for 26 years. Following several controlling functions with Volkswagen in Wolfsburg as well as with Škoda, he was appointed Head of Sales Coordination of the Volkswagen brand in 2009. In his new position, Rickel will report direct to Dr. Karlheinz Blessing, Member of the Management Board of the Volkswagen Group responsible for Human Resources.

Blessing, who is also responsible for AutoVision GmbH as a Volkswagen subsidiary, said: "We are pleased to have secured the services of a highly experienced manager, Hartmut Rickel, for this position. In addition to his many years of experience with the Group, he also participated in the successful negotiations concerning the pact for the future of the Volkswagen brand, in which the brand has specifically described its transformation for all Board of Management divisions and plants in Germany. We wish Hartmut Rickel every success in his new post."

The Chairman of the Volkswagen Group Works Council, Bernd Osterloh, emphasized: "Volkswagen faces considerable changes. To date, AutoVision GmbH, as a wholly-owned subsidi-ary of the Volkswagen Group, has made a key contribution to effectively supporting the Volkswagen business model. In future, the company will also contribute to our success as part of the Group. Especially in the field of services, there will be many changes over the next few years, both as regards our attractiveness as an employer and as regards digitalization and e-mobility. This is why it is so important that Hartmut Rickel, who is an experienced Group manager, has joined the Management Board and will play his part in leading the future Volkswagen Group Ser-vices GmbH to entrepreneurial success – while remaining firmly focused on the needs of its key customer Volkswagen. The transformation of AutoVision GmbH will ensure the long-term securi-ty of jobs with our subsidiary – at the same time as maintaining its economic viability."
