Volkswagen AG gives internet users the opportunity to research information via Volkswagen Media Services (www.volkswagen-media-services.com). The information and material such as text, image, audio and video documents available on this website in the form of press material are intended solely for personal information purposes, or may be used for editorial purposes in the social web, or, in the case of journalists, influencers and media enterprise employees, may be used as a source for their own editorial coverage. Most of the press material is publicly available and downloadable. Selected background reports and photos, broadcast-quality footage material and a press subscription are only available following registration.
The data collected during the registration process (press ID, e-mail address, title, last name, first name, address, phone number, field of activity, company/publisher, medium/program/website) serve to verify authorized access and to ensure unambiguous personal identification. The communication data serve postal or electronic communication in a business context and are not used for other purposes. You determine the storage period for your data. Your data are stored for as long as you use the application. User records are erased after a minimum 2 years of inactivity. User data (e.g. activation following registration, erasure at the user’s request) are processed by a data processor (PR-Redaktion Hill + Ohrt GmbH, Hanover, Germany). User data can be viewed by an IT service provider (NTT Data Deutschland GmbH, Munich, Germany) for system maintenance and monitoring. A registered user can access, update or erase all personal data of said registered user via Volkswagen Media Services. A subscription for an electronic newsletter is offered on a voluntary basis. We only process the data provided in this context (e-mail address, title, last name, first name, subscription period, newsletter language, newsletter topics) for the purpose of providing this service according to the consent given by you (point (a) of Article 6 (1) of the General Data Protection Regulation). Volkswagen AG uses the double opt-in process in this context. An e-mail will be sent to you at the email address provided requesting you to confirm your consent. You determine the storage period of the data for your newsletter subscription. Your data are stored for as long as you subscribe to the newsletter. You may withdraw your consent to Volkswagen AG to subscribe to the newsletter at any time and free of charge with immediate effect, e.g. by using the "unsubscribe" link provided in each newsletter or by sending an e-mail to the following address: email@example.com. Should you unsubscribe, your personal data relating to the newsletter (newsletter subscription period, newsletter language, newsletter topics) will be erased insofar as no other retention periods (e.g. retention periods for tax purposes) apply. Right of access: You have the right to obtain from us information regarding the processing of your personal data.
Right to rectification: You have the right to obtain from us the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
Right to erasure: You have the right to obtain from us the erasure of your data under any of the grounds set out in Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation. You may, for example, obtain the erasure of your data if said data are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected. Furthermore, you may obtain the erasure of your data if we process your data based on your consent and you withdraw that consent.
Right to restriction of processing: You have the right to restrict the processing of your data under any of the grounds set out in Article 18 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
